Norway's sovereign wealth fund said it would terminate all contracts with asset management companies that handle its investments in Israel.
The $2 trillion fund added that it had divested some of its investments in Israel due to the situation in Gaza and the West Bank.
This announcement follows an urgent review initiated last week, after media reports that the fund had acquired a stake in an Israeli aircraft engine manufacturing group that provides services to the Israeli armed forces, including the maintenance of fighter jets.
The fund, which held stakes in 61 Israeli companies as of June 30, said it had divested its stakes in 11 of them in recent days. The fund is an arm of Norway's central bank.
"We have now sold these shares in full," the fund continued, adding that it continues to review Israeli companies for potential divestments.
For his part, Norwegian Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg expected the fund to take additional measures following today's announcement regarding investments in Israel, adding that the fund should not invest in companies that contribute to the occupation of the West Bank and the war in Gaza.
