In a second post, Al-Qassam Brigades stated that its two attacks targeted "an enemy command and control site on the Salah al-Din axis near the Za'arub hill south of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip, with a short-range, 114mm Rajum rocket system."

A short time later, in a third post, it announced that it had managed to snipe two Israeli soldiers with a "Ghoul" rifle, killing and wounding them east of the Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.
