In a statement, the ministry explained that it had recorded the deaths of five Palestinians, including two children, over the past 24 hours as a result of famine and malnutrition, bringing the total number of hunger victims since the outbreak of the war to the aforementioned figure.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition rates among children under the age of five doubled between March and June due to the ongoing Israeli blockade.
In the same context, 15 Palestinians were killed and others injured in separate attacks early Tuesday morning, targeting homes in Gaza City and a tent housing displaced persons in various areas, amid the ongoing war of extermination that has been ongoing for 22 months.
In the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, six Palestinians were killed and two others were injured when a house belonging to the Al-Hosari family was bombed. Another bombardment of the Al-Nadim family home resulted in three deaths and injuries, all of whom were transferred to the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital.
In the south of Gaza City, a Palestinian was killed and others were missing when a house belonging to the Salmi family was bombed, west of the university college.

In the central Gaza Strip, a child was killed and 11 Palestinians were injured as they waited for so-called "American-Israeli aid" near a distribution point in the Gaza Valley area. Israeli occupation forces opened fire on them.
Since May 27, Israel has begun distributing aid through the so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation," an organization supported by Israel and Washington but rejected by the United Nations. According to the Ministry of Health, the shooting of those waiting for this aid has resulted in the deaths of 1,807 Palestinians and the injury of 13,021 others since the mechanism's inception.

"Shameful to the world and requires urgent action"
In this context, UN humanitarian officials called for urgent action after health authorities in Gaza announced the deaths of more than 100 children due to malnutrition since last October.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said its aid partners described the child death toll crossing the 100 mark as "a devastating milestone that shames the world and calls for urgent, long-overdue action."
The World Food Programme (WFP) stated that more than 300,000 children remain at grave risk, and that more than a third of Gaza's population has gone without food for days at a time. It noted that meeting the Strip's basic food needs requires 62,000 tons of aid per month, while the quantities allowed into the Strip are insufficient to sustain approximately two million people.
OCHA added that the United Nations and its partners were able to collect food, fuel, and supplies, including hygiene kits, from the Kerem Shalom crossing on Sunday, but the shipments were unloaded before reaching their intended destinations. The Palestinian Civil Defense reported that more than half of Gaza's ambulances have stopped operating due to a lack of fuel and spare parts, while the Food and Agriculture Organization warned last week that only 1.5% of Gaza's agricultural land remains accessible and intact, reflecting the near-total collapse of the local food system.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
The Israeli genocide left 61,499 Palestinians dead, 153,575 injured, and more than 9,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and famine claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
