Ensenada files complaint with Profepa for pollution at Playa Hermosa

Ensenada, July 20.- The Ensenada City Council filed a complaint with the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa) against whoever is responsible for the pollution of Playa Hermosa , which had to be closed due to risks to the population.

Mayor Armando Ayala Robles confirmed the report during a tour of the area with personnel from the Federal Maritime Land Zone and the Municipal Civil Protection Coordination.

He reiterated the call to the population to avoid entering the sea, due to the health risks that contact with enterococci (bacteria) would pose to bathers and recalled that despite the closure for recreational use , more than 10,000 people attended last weekend .

Red flags and signs have been posted in the area to explain the health risks of coming into contact with contaminated water. Warnings continue to be disseminated on social media, municipal government websites, and various media outlets urging residents not to enter for at least the next 15 days.
