The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement on Friday that three new deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours due to famine and malnutrition, including two children. This brings the total number of victims of Israel's starvation policy since October 7, 2023, to 162 martyrs, including 92 children.
The ministry added that the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen due to the ongoing Israeli blockade and shortages of food and medical supplies, calling for urgent international intervention to deliver aid and save lives.
In a tragic new development, the Israeli army committed two massacres against Palestinians waiting for scarce aid in the northern Gaza Strip, killing 17 civilians and wounding dozens, according to medical sources and eyewitnesses.
Sources reported that 14 people were killed in an attack targeting an aid distribution point in the Zikim area, northwest of Gaza, while three others were killed and more than 70 injured as a result of Israeli gunfire targeting civilians in the Karameh area, north of the Strip.
The Israeli attacks included the bombing of residential apartments and tents housing displaced people in Jabalia, Zeitoun, Shuja'iyya, Rafah, Khan Yunis, and Deir al-Balah, resulting in 53 martyrs in less than 24 hours.
In a previous report, the World Food Programme warned that a third of Gaza's population has not eaten for days, and that 100,000 children and women face severe malnutrition, amid "catastrophic" signs of famine.
Despite this, Israel continues to restrict the entry of aid, allowing only a few dozen trucks per day, while the Strip needs at least 600 trucks per day to rescue the population, according to the government media office in Gaza.
These violations continue amid Israeli and American disregard for international community resolutions, including orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the genocide, which has left more than 208,000 dead and wounded since last October, most of them women and children, in addition to thousands of missing persons and hundreds of thousands displaced.
