Tijuana, January 16. Workers at the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) held a partial strike this Tuesday to protest the deduction of nearly 3,000 pesos a month from their salaries, which are being allocated to their retirement savings accounts.
The protest, which was attended by investigative agents, the Public Ministry, and administrative staff, was called for on Monday. The discount, which is added to other "already significant" discounts, is considered unjust and a setback.
During the demonstration, they stated that they initially agreed to the contribution, but they had been notified that it would be phased in throughout the year and that they would be reimbursed, which has not happened. They then participated in a meeting with the Attorney General, María Elena Andrade Ramírez, to express their disagreement.
The official said they were informed of the reason for the deductions, which are related to retirement and pension plans.
