Tecate, September 7.- The forest fire in the Los Pistones area, near the Las Criaturas ranch in Tecate, is now "under control," Mayor Darío Benítez announced.
The mayor of Tecate, via social media, reported that since Saturday morning, work has been underway to "monitor, control, and extinguish" the fire that broke out in the Las Criaturas ranch area.
"A unified command post was set up in the Rancho Las Criaturas area to monitor the fire, which is now reported to be stable," the mayor added.
The mayor explained that firefighters from Tecate, Tijuana, Ensenada, Conafor, Sader, Sedena, the National Guard, rural brigades, Conam, and volunteer firefighters from Mexicali are working at the command post.
Three fires remained active yesterday in Tecate: one of the fires started four days ago in Cerro Azul and surrounded the Las Auras dam, another was recorded near La Sierrita, and the third in the Colosio Parte Alta neighborhood.
According to yesterday's report, 600 hectares of burned bushes had been counted by Thursday night.
