Alternate street rehabilitated due to closure of International Street due to viaduct works

Tijuana, October 10. Tijuana Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez toured the renovation works on Venustiano Carranza Street in the Castillo neighborhood. This will be one of the alternate routes when traffic is diverted from International Avenue due to the construction of the Elevated Viaduct.

In a press release, the City Council reported that the work—which will require an investment of 5 million 458 thousand pesos—is being carried out as part of the Bye Bye Potholes street rehabilitation program and is being done simultaneously in the city's nine boroughs.

Regarding Venustiano Carranza Street, the Secretary of Urban, Territorial, and Environmental Development (Sdtua), Juan Enrique Bautista Corona, described it as "extremely important" because it will be an alternate route for the construction of the Elevated Viaduct, which the Federal Government will be carrying out.

"During the inspection tour of Venustiano Carranza Street in the Castillo neighborhood, Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez emphasized that with the work being carried out on this avenue, the Municipal Government is reinforcing the Bye Bye Potholes program in the Centro Delegation," the statement said.

The head of Sdtua reported that in the second year of work, through the Bye Bye Potholes program, the government headed by Montserrat Caballero repaired and rehabilitated 375,000 square meters of roads. These projects have received more than 300 million pesos in funding, exceeding last year's goal.
