Mexicali, July 11. Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda announced that she has instructed the Ministry of Citizen Security and the Institute of Sustainable Mobility (Imos) to create a system for the ongoing evaluation and supervision of all digital platform drivers.
This measure arises from the femicide of Paola Andrea Bañuelos , a 23-year-old student who was last seen early Monday morning in the bar area of Mexicali, where she boarded a vehicle registered with the Didi app.
Her body was found this morning in the Islas Agrarias community and, although the cause of death has not been determined, at first glance it showed signs of violence .
"Although these platforms are responsible for the selection of their personnel, as a government, we will not be indifferent to this tragedy and will demand strict controls to ensure the peace of mind of all those who use these services," the state leader emphasized.
