Indonesian women's singles badminton player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung was eliminated from the 2025 World Championships after losing to South Korean singles player Sim Yu Jin in straight games, 15-21 and 18-21 in the round of 16 at the Adidas Arena, Paris.
Grego admitted that the match did not go well because in the early game, Sim Yu Jin often read a number of his attack variations.
Meanwhile, entering the second game, the world number seven badminton player said that he was playing less safely even though he had brought the score to 18-19 at the end of the game.
"At the start of the game, I was up by two or three points, but after the interval, my opponent was very good at anticipating and reading my ball. So, I had a lot of hesitation and was in a losing battle," Grego said, as quoted by PBSI.
