In a recorded speech posted by the movement on its platforms Monday evening, Osama Hamdan, a leader in the movement, emphasized that the Israeli prisoners "are experiencing the same conditions as the people of Gaza," including siege, starvation, and ongoing aggression.
Hamdan said, "The Netanyahu government bears full responsibility for the lives of all prisoners held by the resistance, due to its intransigence, arrogance, and evasion of reaching a ceasefire agreement, as well as its escalation of the war of extermination and starvation against our people."
He explained that Netanyahu, who is wanted by international justice, also bears "responsibility for the condition of the captive Israeli soldier, Eviatar David, due to the escalation of the siege, starvation, and the denial of food, water, and medicine to the Gaza Strip."
Hamdan added: "The world has witnessed the humane treatment that the enemy's prisoners received from the resistance since October 7, 2023, throughout their captivity, in addition to the confessions and testimonies of released enemy prisoners. The resistance has always made it clear that they eat what our besieged, starving people eat and drink what they drink."
He stressed that the resistance's treatment of the occupation's prisoners is carried out "in accordance with the values and tolerant principles of Islam, and in accordance with the availability of humanitarian needs for our people in the Gaza Strip."
He explained that the Israeli prisoners "are experiencing what the people of Gaza are experiencing," while "the fascist occupation government is practicing the most heinous forms of torture, brutal revenge, humiliation, and slow killing against our prisoners in its prisons."
Hamdan called on the UN Security Council to adopt "clear and binding resolutions on the occupation to halt its war of extermination, withdraw from the Gaza Strip, open the crossings to humanitarian aid, and halt its violations against Palestinian prisoners."
The genocide perpetrated by Israel in Gaza, with American support, has left more than 210,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and a famine that has claimed the lives of many.
