Ensenada, August 2.- Playa Hermosa , in Ensenada, after more than a year with high levels of contamination, complied with the regulations, so it is among the 287 beaches whose water samples passed laboratory tests , reported the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris).
Likewise, Cofepris detailed that almost all of the country's beaches are clean and suitable for recreational use. Only Hornos, Suave, and Manzanillo beaches in Acapulco, Guerrero, exceeded the maximum permitted bacteria levels.
The health authority indicated that 2,098 water analyses were conducted at 75 tourist destinations in 17 coastal states, based on safety guidelines recommended by the World Health Organization .
Regarding Playa Hermosa, Cofepris reported that it has historically recorded high levels of enterococci, so the State Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks in Baja California will conduct extraordinary monitoring during this vacation period.
