Tijuana, May 25.- The president of the Tijuana Medical Association, Abraham Sánchez Frehem, said that, despite the fact that the work of private doctors is essential during the pandemic, the Federal Government did not consider them a priority within the vaccination program and because the Baja California Health Secretariat has carried out group immunizations, they estimate that 50 percent of health personnel affiliated with associations have been immunized.
"I believe that more than half of the registered doctors from the medical association who are affiliated have already been vaccinated. Of those who are not registered, we have no idea," said Sánchez Frehem.
The private physician also assured that the call to get vaccinated is made through medical associations. However, although it is open to all health personnel, the only requirement being their professional license, sometimes doctors who work in private practices or in pharmacy offices are not aware that they are the most vulnerable because those who attend do not have health services, and it is in pharmacy offices where outpatients are seen.
"On average, they handle around 20 consultations, but unfortunately, these are regulations dictated by the Federal Government," the medical leader explained.
