Tijuana, September 20. In a ceremony led by Rector Luis Arriaga Valenzuela, undergraduate and graduate students from the Tijuana Campus of the Universidad Iberoamericana (Ibero) Tijuana celebrated their graduation.
Arriaga Valenzuela emphasized that, as students of a Jesuit institution, professional training is for us to be people committed to serving others: “At Ibero, we always insist on the principle of 'Magis,' which means 'more' in Latin. That is, accepting the invitation to seek the best in every action , every decision, and every aspect of our lives.”
He invited the graduates to keep in mind that their training has been designed to prepare them to be leaders with a deep sense of justice and empathy in every challenge they face.
The rector also shared three invitations to imagine their paths toward the future: “First, be agents of change in your disciplines. The pursuit of excellence we have fostered in your education does not stop with the completion of your degree. Second, maintain a strong sense of justice and empathy, acting with courage and compassion to transform the realities that need to be changed. And third, live with integrity and authenticity , in the spirit of Saint Ignatius, accepting the realities of life with wisdom and passion.”
On the other hand, the Academic Merit Award was given to Estefanía Gutiérrez Muñiz , a graduate of the Bachelor's Degree in Law, which seeks to recognize bachelor's degree graduates who stand out for their significant actions in the various areas of university work.
Representing the undergraduate graduates, Liliana Guerrero Pacheco, a psychology major, offered a message of support and pride in the achievements and challenges faced by the new generation of professionals. On behalf of the graduate level, María Dolores López Moreno, a graduate of the Master's in Strategic City Planning, shared a message about her experience in professional development.
