Tijuana, April 11.- In Baja California, 13.22 percent of those registered on the electoral roll participated in the recall referendum held on Sunday.
According to the results of the National Electoral Institute (INE) voter count, 384,918 of the 2,910,262 people on the nominal list participated; 24,394 voted for the recall, and 356,268 voted for President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to leave office.
As of the latest count, published at 10 a.m. on April 11 (local time), 4,256 spoiled votes had been counted.
The multi-million-dollar referendum cost 1.7 billion pesos, a budget allocated to the INE (National Institute of Statistics and Census), not including expenses incurred on banners and billboard rentals for the Morena government and political class, as well as transport.
