Italy wins the Women's U-21 World Volleyball Championship



 The Italian U-21 women's national volleyball team secured the title at the 2025 Women's U-21 World Volleyball Championship after defeating Japan in a five-set drama 3-2 (25-22, 22-25, 15-25, 25-19, 15-11) in the final match at the Jawa Pos Arena, Surabaya, East Java.

Starting the first set, both teams played very openly and exchanged points, but Italy was able to take advantage to take a two-point lead, 14-12.

The game was intense, with both teams displaying fast attacks. Italy was able to take advantage after a Japanese player misrepresented the reception, 20-19, and a misrepresentation from Uchizawa gave Italy the first set victory, 25-22.

In the second set, the game between the two teams was still very open and exchanged attacks.

Japan took the lead midway through the set after Adigwe's shot failed to clear the net, 18-16.

In a superior position, Japan did not slow down the tempo and won 25-22.

In the third set, Japan tried to control the tempo of the game while Italy tried to wait.

Omori's shot failed to be blocked by the Italian defense and made the score 18-6.
