This came in a joint statement read during a press conference at the United Nations Headquarters in New York by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Permanent Mission of Turkey to the United Nations, Asli Güven, who chairs the OIC Ministerial Council, in the presence of members of the group and the organization.
This comes days after the Israeli government approved a gradual plan on Friday to occupy the entire Gaza Strip, starting with Gaza City, home to approximately one million Palestinians.
Regarding this plan, the statement said: "We consider Israel's announcement of its intention to impose full military control over the Gaza Strip a dangerous and unacceptable escalation, a flagrant violation of international law, and an attempt to entrench the illegal occupation."
He added, "Israel's actions and continued grave violations, including killing, starvation, attempts to impose forced displacement, annexation of Palestinian lands, and settlement expansion, all amount to crimes against humanity."
