Kairat Almaty and Pafos FC secured a place in the Champions League final after eliminating their opponents in the qualifying play-offs.

In the match held at Pavlodar Central Stadium, Pavlodar, Kairat was able to eliminate Celtic through a penalty shootout after the aggregate score was 0-0.

During the penalty shootout, Kairat won 3-2 after Celtic's last penalty taker, Daizen Maeda, failed to execute his duties properly.

Besides Daizen Maeda, two other Celtic penalty takers, Luke McCowan and Adam Idah, failed to carry out their duties, while three Kairat executors, namely Alyaksandr Martynovic, Ofri Arad, and Yegor Sorokin, were able to get through it well.
