PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir hopes that two prospective Indonesian national team players, Mauro Zijlstra and Miliano Jonathans, can take the oath of Indonesian citizenship (WNI) this week.
while viewing the photo and writing exhibition "90' & Beyond", Erick revealed that today the recommendation letter for naturalization of Mauro and Miliano had been sent by the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, to the State Secretariat to obtain a Presidential Decree (Keppres) as a requirement for taking the oath of Indonesian citizens.
"Thank God, today the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Puan Maharani, has sent a letter to the President. I just received the information," said Erick.
"Yes, hopefully, there will be a continuous process for the swearing-in within the next day or two," he added.
The man who also serves as Minister of State-Owned Enterprises hopes that Mauro and Miliano can take the oath of Indonesian citizenship this week so that the two players who play in the Dutch Eredivisie can strengthen Garuda in the FIFA Match Day in September.
In this FIFA Match Day window, Indonesia will face Taiwan on September 5 and Lebanon on September 8 at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.
