Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid stated that digital transformation has become the backbone of the Indonesian economy.

Especially with the significant contribution from the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector, which is increasingly adapting to the digital ecosystem.

"Indonesia's economic growth in 2024 is projected to reach 5.03 percent, with a GDP of Rp22,139 trillion. Behind this figure, we see the significant role of the digital economy, particularly through increasingly digitalized MSMEs," said Meutya at the 2025 Indonesia Summit.

He stated that MSMEs play a vital role in accelerating the digital economy, with women accounting for over 60 percent of business owners. He noted that MSMEs' ability to adapt to digital technology has proven to boost national economic performance.

"I always admire and enjoy meeting women running MSMEs every time I go to the regions. They adapt very quickly to digital MSMEs and then boost the economy," she said.
