La Paz, June 23.- Mayor Rubén Muñoz announced new health measures that will be implemented from June 23 to 30, aimed at curbing the spread of the pandemic, given the increase in active cases and deaths from Covid-19 in Los Cabos and La Paz.
This is because the State Health Security Council approved the return of both municipalities to level five of the state health alert system (out of six levels).
In a session held in the La Paz Municipal Health Committee's council chamber, the mayor announced that admission to supermarkets and department stores will be limited to one person per family, while alcohol sales will be limited to 6:00 p.m.
Restaurants will be allowed to operate at 30 percent capacity, with opening hours until 10:00 p.m.; street food sales will be takeout only and will be open until 10:00 p.m., due to the lack of sanitary conditions for dine-in.It was determined that public beach capacity will be 30 percent, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; the boardwalk will remain closed for recreational and sports activities from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
All religious or worship activities, social events, cinemas, and gyms (outdoors only) are suspended.
Public transportation will operate at 50 percent capacity and must comply with mandatory safety measures.
The mayor emphasized that the health emergency is not over and that it is not time to relax preventive measures, and he urged the population to comply with the announced measures.
