Tijuana, January 29. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz Boulevard will be partially closed for 30 days to repair the sinkhole that opened near the Arroyo del Sáenz Bridge.
According to the Tijuana City Council, the sinkhole was formed as a result of the rains on January 22 and acts of vandalism in the area.
The Municipal Department of Urban Works and Infrastructure (DOIUM) will be responsible for repairing the slab and storm drain, so the road will be closed for 25 linear meters in the direction of the Los Reyes neighborhood, while two lanes will remain open in that direction.
The area is already cordoned off and enclosed by concrete walls. Citizens are asked to be patient and drive carefully in the area. Pedestrians are also urged to walk carefully and stay on the road, as sewage spills may be observed .
It should be noted that just this Monday, a van fell into the sinkhole, an accident that caused minor injuries to the vehicle's driver
