The Regionally-Owned Enterprise Niaga of Lebak Regency, Banten, is ready to accommodate the harvested rice of farmers in the area to increase the economic income of the community.
"We hope that the BUMD company will produce rice," said Lebak Regent Mochamad Hasbi Asyidiki Jayabaya in Lebak.
The readiness of the BUMD Niaga Lebak company in the near future will build a rice milling unit (RMU) or mill rice into rice.
The rice production can meet the availability of traditional markets in Lebak Regency and can also be supplied outside the region.
The potential for developing rice business production is an effort to support the national food self-sufficiency program as well as poverty alleviation and the elimination of extreme poverty, in accordance with Presidential Instruction Number 8 of 2025 concerning Optimization of the Implementation of Poverty Alleviation and the Elimination of Extreme Poverty.
Thus, the food farming business can promise farmer welfare if the rice harvest can be accommodated by the Lebak BUMD Niaga at a government purchase price (HPP) of IDR 6,500 per kilogram.
The presence of BUMD Niaga Lebak is quite clear and promises a better life for farmers' businesses, because the results of farmers' rice production are collected by the regional company.
"We believe that BUMD Niaga Lebak will increase farmers' businesses and contribute to regional economic income," he explained.
