Leeds have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Calvert-Lewin.

Leeds United has reportedly reached an agreement in principle to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a free agent following his departure from Everton, according to The New York Times.

The 28-year-old striker is scheduled to undergo a medical at Thorp Arch training ground in the near future, in order to complete the move.

Calvert-Lewin has been open to other clubs since he confirmed in June that he would leave the Merseyside club as a free agent after his contract expired.

He spent nine years at Goodison Park after joining from Sheffield United in 2016. Calvert-Lewin scored 71 goals in 274 appearances for Everton, but his time at the club was often hampered by injuries.

Everton offered him a new contract last summer, but a new agreement was never reached.

After announcing his intention to leave Everton, Calvert-Lewin wrote on Instagram: “This is not a decision I have taken lightly.

“Everton has been my home since I was 19. It saw the potential in me, challenged me to develop, and shaped me, both as a footballer and as a person.”

Calvert-Lewin will become Leeds' eighth signing of the summer, as they return to England's top flight after winning the Championship last season. Another striker they have already signed is Lukas Nmecha from German club Wolfsburg.

Calvert-Lewin has played 11 times for England and scored four goals, although his last appearance for the Three Lions came in 2021.
