Mexicali, March 30.- The Ministry of Culture allocated 8 million 120 thousand pesos for the hiring of Los Tigres del Norte, who performed on March 18 in Mexicali.
For the 120th anniversary of Baja California's capital, the Ministry of Culture hired Tecnologías para la Vida, the company that represents the Tigres del Norte.
The unnumbered contract was signed on March 15, 2023, under the signatures of Alma Delia Abrego, head of Culture of Baja California; Jesús Manuel García García as the group's representative; Jesús Beltrán as general coordinator of Heritage and Dissemination; and Emilio López, director of Cultural and Artistic Dissemination.
The hiring of Los Tigres del Norte almost doubled the cost of Emmanuel and Mijares' performance, which took place during the Fiestas Patrias celebrations on September 15, 2022.
Mijares' presentation was budgeted under item 33905 Other Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services of the 2022 annual operating program at a cost of 4 million 450 thousand pesos plus 16 percent VAT.
On March 14, the Chief Officer's Procurement Committee met to approve direct award DAD-ADQ-ICBC-25-23 concerning Los Tigres del Norte as the sole item on the agenda.
"It's a cultural entity representative of popular culture and an exponent of the regional Mexican genre, or even of the northern genre," explained Josué Hernán Cortes, Undersecretary of Cultural Heritage and Diffusion.
The concert took place on the municipal esplanade and in the Plaza de los Tres Poderes, where a tree and several palm trees were felled to organize the event, which was attended by approximately 16,000 people.
