The General Chairman of the Indonesian Athletics Association Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, emphasized his commitment to implementing sports science programs in athletic development to achieve measurable results according to targets.
"I have told the coaches that this sport (athletics) must be scientifically trained to achieve the targets we have set," said Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan at the 2025 PASI Congress in Solo, Central Java, on Saturday.
He said that at the previous meeting with his team, he emphasized that the focus of athletic development should be on several numbers to be carried out using a sports science approach .
He said that athletes in the focused events will be provided with special data and programs that will allow their training progress to be monitored based on scientific calculations.
"So, we're not relying on feelings, but rather on science . We'll be monitoring this constantly , and it's not difficult; we have the big data," he said.
