Mexicali, April 3. Considering that he lacks the knowledge of water issues to assume the role of delegate of the National Water Commission (Conagua) in Baja California, the state Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and its union, the National Peasant Confederation (CNC), asked to reconsider the appointment of the former local deputy, Manuel Guerrero Luna .
The PRI's state leader, Álvaro Aldrete Gruel, considered the appointment irresponsible because the former leader of the Bureaucrats Union in Mexicali lacks the necessary qualifications to lead Conagua in the state.
" He is an unfit person ; Conagua is perhaps one of the most technical organizations," he said.
On Tuesday, April 1, Guerrero Luna assumed the leadership of Conagua in the state.
Aldrete Gruel believed that the appointment was due to cronyism or party support.
" He doesn't have the capacity or the experience. It's such a technical issue that many Baja Californians may not understand the scale of the issue," he said.
CNC leader Mario Soto Ibarra said they are surprised by the federal authorities' appointment of Manuel Guerrero.
