Marchand and McIntosh dominate the 2025 World Swimming Championships

French men's swimmer Leon Marchand and Canadian women's swimmer Summer McIntosh capped off dominant performances on the final day of the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the US ended the competition by breaking the world record in the relay.

Marchand added the men's 400-meter individual medley world title to his tally after winning the 200-meter medley, breaking Ryan Lochte's world record, which had stood since 2011.

Marchand clocked 4 minutes 04.73 seconds, three seconds ahead of Japan's Tomoyuki Matsushita (4:08.32) and Russia's neutral swimmer, Ilia Borodin (4:09.16).

In the women's category, McIntosh, who is only 18 years old, confirmed her status as one of the world's best young swimmers.

She won her fourth gold medal in this event after winning the women's 400-meter individual medley with a time of 4:25.78, which also became a championship record.
