Tijuana, November 24.- Because this proposal was conceived, designed, and discussed to work in harmony with the federal government, and because it is "not just a whim ," Marina del Pilar will ask Montserrat Caballero to reconsider her opinion on the creation of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC).
During her recently inaugurated morning press conference , the governor of Baja California answered several questions about the initiative recently approved by the State Congress and the aspects of it that have been criticized.
Reconsider in Tijuana
When asked about her differences with Tijuana Mayor Montserrat Caballero , Marina del Pilar first emphasized that it is not only one of the most violent municipalities in the country, but in the world .
"I invite you to reflect on the issue [...] to analyze the situation [...] at the end of the day, the Secretary would help Tijuana work in coordination."
In response, the governor asserted that "the PEP never ceased to exist; it was integrated into the Attorney General's Office, its name and colors were changed, but it's still there."
“It’s not a whim”
Reinforcing the state's interest in being in sync with the Federal Government, the governor detailed the process of creating the initiative.
" It's not a whim, it's not a whim. It's an initiative discussed with the National Security Cabinet, the Ministry of Defense, and even the Navy, where we established that a better security strategy in the state requires a SSC in Baja California," he said.
