Meta is reportedly making a major overhaul of its artificial intelligence development team, with the company preparing to dismantle the existing structure and replace it with four new groups.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Wednesday, the news first surfaced in a report by The Information. Four days later, the change was officially announced in an internal company memo.
This new structure will operate under the name Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL). At its heart is a new unit called TBD Labs, which will be led directly by Alexandr Wang, the founder of Scale AI, who joined Meta as Chief AI Officer last June.
