Acting Director of Digital Ecosystem Development at the Ministry of Communication and Digital, Sonny Hendra Sudaryana, emphasized the importance of close collaboration between the government and platform providers in building an integrated digital ecosystem to boost Indonesia's digital economic potential.
"A number of government plans to accelerate the potential of the digital economy include pro-innovation regulations through a sandbox model and startup -friendly licensing ," Sonny said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Another government plan is to support start-ups led by women and those based in rural areas, she said in a panel discussion entitled " People, Policy and Platforms: Strengthening Public Delivery for a More Inclusive Society in Indonesia.
Three industry experts also attended the discussion, namely the Head of Partnership & Investment Ecosystem of the Directorate of Digital Ecosystem Development of the Ministry of Communication and Technology, Muhammad Faisal, Secretary General of the Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA), Budi Primawan, and Head of Research at the Center for Digital Society (CfDS), Hafiz Noer.
