In the first three years of this administration, the Ministry of Public Administration (SFP) has sanctioned 4,864 public servants, 15 percent of those who had been penalized in the same period of the previous six-year term, and less than 10 percent of those reprimanded during that administration.
Among the former officials from Enrique Peña Nieto's administration sanctioned from 2019 to the present are three former secretaries, a former undersecretary of the SFP itself, and various Pemex executives.
According to the most recent report published by the Civil Service, which contains figures updated as of February 2021, during this six-year term, fines and economic penalties totaling 3 billion 985 million 555 thousand pesos have been imposed on 442 public servants.
One difference between the sentences imposed during the previous six-year term and the current one is that during the former, the majority of punished officials received public or private reprimands, while the current SFP has primarily resorted to declaring them ineligible to hold public office.
