Nintendo has sold more than 6 million units of the Switch 2 console in the seven weeks since its launch and is currently pursuing a sales target of 15 million units by April 2026.
As reported by Engadget on Saturday, if the target is achieved, the Switch 2 will surpass the first generation Switch which took a full year to reach sales of 15 million units.
In its earnings report, Nintendo also reported sales of 5.82 million Switch 2 units through June 30, 2025. By July 25, 2025, the company stated it had sold over 6 million units. While these figures aren't specific, they indicate that sales plummeted in July despite steady demand.
