Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria emphasized that verification discipline is the foundation of professional journalism in the digital era.
Nezar, in a press release on Saturday, said the discipline of verification is the main differentiator between professional journalism and social media content.
According to him, amidst the rise of disinformation, journalism still has a key characteristic that distinguishes it from social media content, namely the discipline of verification.
"Verification discipline is the boundary between amateur and professional information," he said at the 2025 Radar Surabaya Awards, at the Vasa Hotel, Surabaya.
