Ensenada, October 9.- The organization Por un Valle de Verdad (For a Valley of Truth) , through a letter, invited Christian Nodal to “safeguard our Valle de Guadalupe,” after approximately 25 hectares of an agricultural area were cleared for the installation of the APM Forum , where the popular singer was scheduled to offer a concert this weekend.
The association noted that Nodal is not 100 percent responsible for the removal of natural vegetation that affected the forest land, but indicated that, "by being hired under these circumstances, you, as well as those who hired you, became part of the problem."
“That is why, with affection and honesty, we ask you (Christian Nodal) to respond wholeheartedly to this invitation. Help us preserve the vocation of the Valle de Guadalupe. Open your mind to the possibility of doing things differently, not only for our community, but also to set a precedent that serves as an example for everyone in Mexico ,” the letter reads.
Requests to the corresponding authorities
In the letter, they also demanded that the municipal government "implement the Zoning and Land Use Regulations for the Urban-Tourism Development Sector Program for the Wine Valleys of the Northern Zone of the Municipality of Ensenada, as an urgent measure to mitigate the risks of holding mass events within the agricultural zone."
They also asked Profepa to "safeguard the integrity of the native species in question, halt the destruction, and punish those responsible" for the construction of the APM Forum.
The letter was signed by "the productive sectors of the Guadalupe Valley, researchers, academics, and residents of the area."
