McLaren driver Oscar Piastri will start the 2025 Formula 1 Dutch GP from pole position after recording the fastest time in the qualifying session at the Zandvoort Circuit.
Piastri beat his McLaren teammate Lando Norris in a thrilling qualifying session that went down to the final seconds, according to the Formula 1 website.
Norris dominated the three free practice sessions over the weekend, but Piastri put in a brilliant performance by setting the fastest time in Q1.
In Q2, Norris regained the lead, but in Q3, Piastri took provisional pole with a time of 1 minute 08.662 seconds.
Norris tried to improve his time on the final lap, but could only finish second by a narrow margin of 0.012 seconds from Piastri.
