Putri KW is satisfied with ending her women's singles medal drought at the World Championships.

Indonesian women's singles badminton player Putri Kusuma Wardani expressed her satisfaction at ending the women's singles medal drought at the BWF World Championships after winning bronze at the 2025 edition in Paris, France.

Putri secured a bronze medal despite being stopped in the semifinals after being defeated by Akane Yamaguchi from Japan with a score of 17-21, 21-14, 6-21 at the Adidas Arena on Saturday.

"It's incredible to win a bronze medal here," Putri said after the match in a written statement received in Jakarta on Saturday.

She said that her journey to the semifinals wasn't easy, including defeating former world champion Pusarla V. Sindhu in the quarterfinals. "If I could do it over again, it would be sad, but I'm here now thanks to my parents and the people who supported me when I was down," she said.

This achievement is a positive achievement, as the Indonesian women's singles team last won a World Championship medal in 2015, thanks to Lindaweni Fanetri. The last gold medal in women's singles was won by Susi Susanti in 1993.
