PBVSI is optimistic that the men's national team can go far in the U-21 World Championship.

Chairman of the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI), Imam Sudjarwo, is optimistic that the Indonesian men's national volleyball team can advance far in the 2025 Men's U-21 World Volleyball Championship.

Imam is targeting at least the Red and White team to qualify for the last 16 of the event taking place in China.

According to Imam, Anwar Sadat's team has the potential to advance further because it is quite solid and previously ranked fourth in the U-20 Asian Championship.

"God willing, they (the Indonesian U-21 national team) will play better because they have experience participating in the U-20 tournament here and winning fourth place," Imam Sudjarwo told ANTARA in Surabaya, East Java, Sunday evening WIB.

Imam Sudjarwo revealed that the competition that the Red and White team will go through will not be easy because they will face strong countries from all over the world.

"Let's just pray that the U-21 men's national team, which will depart for China on August 19, will perform well and certainly make a significant contribution to volleyball in Indonesia," said Imam Sudjarwo.

Later, Muhammad Darda and his friends will compete in Pool D against Italy, Tunisia, Ukraine, Argentina and France.

The team coached by Anwar Sadat will take part in a tournament that will take place starting August 21.
