Real Madrid continued their perfect start to the season with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu.
This victory took Los Blancos to the top of the standings with nine points from three matches.
Meanwhile, Mallorca languishes in 18th place with just one point, in danger of entering the relegation zone. The season will be suspended due to the international break, according to the official La Liga website.
Mallorca played solidly from the start, making life difficult for Real Madrid with a tight defense. Madrid's first chance came in the 15th minute, when Aurelien Tchouameni's shot went over.
However, Mallorca took the lead in the 18th minute. Vedat Muriqi capitalized on a corner kick to head the ball past goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, giving Los Bermellones a 1-0 lead.
Madrid rallied towards the end of the first half. In the 37th minute, Arda Guler equalized at 1-1 with a header from Dean Huijsen's cross.
Just a minute later, Vinicius Junior put Madrid ahead 2-1. Receiving a pass from Federico Valverde, Vinicius made a solo run, outwitting the defender, and unleashed a left-footed shot that found the bottom corner of the Mallorca goal.
