The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Headquarters is still keeping secret the name of the Deputy TNI Commander who is planned to be inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto at the Operational Troops and Military Honors Ceremony at the Special Forces Education and Training Center, Batujajar, West Bandung, West Java, on August 10, 2025.
"We are waiting for the announcement of who will become (Deputy TNI Commander) on August 10th, to be inaugurated directly by the President," said the Head of the TNI Information Center (Kapuspen) Major General TNI Kristomei Sianturi to the media crew in Batujajar, West Bandung, Friday.
Kristomei explained that the certainty of who the Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) will be will be known during the inauguration and refers to Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 84 of 2025, which replaces Presidential Regulation Number 66 of 2019 concerning the Organization of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).
The Presidential Decree regulates the structure and ranking levels within the TNI in more detail, including filling the position of Deputy TNI Commander, which must now be filled by a four-star high-ranking officer.
"The position of Deputy Commander will be filled in accordance with Presidential Decree Number 84 of 2025. Under this regulation, this position must be filled by a four-star high-ranking officer," Kristomei said.
