Thousands of residents crowded the Jalan Udaya area, Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara, witnessing the remains of the fire that destroyed the NTB DPRD office during a demonstration.
They turned on their cell phones to record the surrounding atmosphere and the activities of the fire brigade team who were struggling to cool down the legislative office.
"The fire smoldered this afternoon and now only white smoke remains," said Arief when met while recording a video on his cellphone in front of the NTB DPRD Office, Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara.
Hundreds of motorbikes were parked along the road, while their riders were busy on the sidewalk and on the fence capturing the atmosphere of the NTB DPRD Office.
Several fire trucks from Mataram City went back and forth spraying water to cool the embers that were still burning inside the NTB DPRD Office.

Since Jalan Udayana was reopened by traffic officers ahead of the Asr call to prayer, the public has now had more freedom to see the remains of the fire.
The NTB DPRD office is currently being tightly guarded by security to prevent the public from entering the building yard and disrupting the cooling and cleaning process carried out by the Mataram City Fire Department.
According to previous reports, the NTB Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) office caught fire during a demonstration by thousands of people from various segments of society. The office was also looted by individuals deliberately exploiting the unrest.
