The government distributed 43,665 tons of rice for food supply and price stability simultaneously throughout Indonesia through the Affordable Food Movement to maintain food price stability.
"We want to build a healthy food ecosystem, which has been experiencing anomalies everywhere. This affordable food movement is a concrete effort to maintain food stability, especially rice, so that it is affordable and accessible to the public at a fair price," said Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman at the Affordable Food Movement (GPM) event held at the Ministry of Agriculture office in Jakarta on Saturday.
The GPM is headquartered at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) office in Jakarta, and is also located at thousands of locations throughout Indonesia. This is part of the SPHP rice distribution, which is targeted to reach 1.3 million tons for the July–December 2025 period.
The distributed SPHP rice is sold for Rp 60,000 for a 5-kilogram (kg) package. SPHP rice distribution reaches 4,320 sub-districts across 38 provinces.
In addition, distribution is also strengthened through cross-sectoral collaboration, namely 414 distribution points with the National Police, 449 points with the Indonesian National Armed Forces, 129 points through the BUMN network, and 415 other distribution points.
Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani stated that the affordable food movement was carried out to ensure stability in price affordability and control inflation.
