Samsung Electronics Co. on Tuesday launched a new premium television that uses red, green and blue backlighting, allowing independent color control for more vivid resolution.
According to the South Korean tech giant, the 115-inch Micro RGB TV produces clearer images than conventional TVs that only use white backlighting.
"Micro RGB TVs are the most accurate products in controlling light and color, which are fundamental elements of display technology," said Samsung Electronics Vice President Son Tae-yong.
Son added that Samsung Electronics will continue to maintain its leadership in the TV sector by focusing on the ultra-large and premium segments.
This new TV uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology through the Micro RGB AI Engine, which analyzes displayed content in real-time to adjust colors and improve low-resolution picture quality.
