Sheinbaum defends the role of Mexicans in the US, amid threats of deportation.

Nuevo Laredo, December 8.- From this border city, President Claudia Sheinbaum vindicated the role of Mexican migrants in the northern country: “Let it be heard clearly and loudly” Mexican workers labor with dignity in the United States “they are heroes and heroines of the homeland who help Mexico and help develop the United States economy.”

This time, the president did not improvise her speech, but rather delivered a structured approach to emphasize a passionate defense of her countrymen in the context of threats from White House President Donald Trump, who has predicted a mass deportation of migrants.

He defended the contributions of Mexicans: “They are the best farm workers. No one is like Mexican workers. Without them, there would be no food on the American table. Likewise, they are the best construction workers and they drive the economies of the United States and Mexico forward. They are great workers in factories. What's more, there are mechanics who are scientists, professionals,” who also contribute their talents.

Sheinbaum said that with respect to sovereignty, the trade relationship is unique and we must protect it among the three countries. Cooperation will always be the best solution. Furthermore, we will always contribute to the humanitarian mission of preventing the consumption of fentanyl in the United States.
