Dancesport, breaking, and street dance will be the main attractions at the 8th National Recreational Sports Festival (FORNAS) 2025, which will take place at the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Cultural Park.
The street dance competition, which featured a total of 11 categories, was a magnet in itself, especially for the audience who enthusiastically attended to see the performances of the athletes from 18 provinces across Indonesia.
Ardiyansyah Djafar, Chairman of the Indonesian Dancesport & Breaking Federation (FDBI), expressed his appreciation for the central government's support. He also highlighted the economic value of this community sports subsector.
"If adjusted to the Indonesian context, the market potential for the dance and cheerleading subsector could reach IDR 4 trillion. However, unfortunately, performing arts—especially dance—have not received the attention that equates to their potential," said FDBI Chairman Ardiyansyah Djafar, as quoted in an official statement.
