Tijuana, February 17. A taxi driver was shot to death inside his vehicle in an Oxxo parking lot, three others were shot in the Las Torres neighborhood, another in the Valle Bonito neighborhood, one in Granjas Familiares, and another whose body was found in a bag in the Colinas de California subdivision. These are the seven homicide victims this Friday in Tijuana.
With these events, the murder statistics rose to 84 so far in February and 240 for the year, an average of 5.7 per day.
Around 4 p.m., residents of Baja California Street—the main thoroughfare in the Camino Verde neighborhood of the Sánchez Taboada district—reported the murder of a man who was inside a taxi parked at an Oxxo convenience store. His body was found in the driver's seat, and several shell casings were found in the street.
Shortly before, in the Las Torres Parte Baja neighborhood, police responded to a report of an attack on four men on Durazno Street; three died at the scene, and the other was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
