The Japanese U-21 women's national volleyball team easily defeated the Thai U-21 team in three straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-17) in the second match of Pool D of the 2025 Women's U-21 World Volleyball Championship at the Jawa Pos Arena, Surabaya, East Java, on Friday.
This victory also makes Japan now top the standings with a collection of six points from two wins.
Meanwhile, Thailand is in third place with a collection of three points from one win and one loss.
In the first set, Japan immediately responded to Thailand's open game, which tried to continue to press.
Japan immediately stepped on the gas by scoring five consecutive points to lead 12-7.
In a commanding position, Japan continued to play solidly and widened the gap by scoring four consecutive points, 22-13. Japan then closed the first set with a 25-15 victory.
