Celebrity Jefri Nichol, who is scheduled to have a boxing match with El Rumi in the Superstar Knockout King of The Ring event at the JCC Senayan wants to knock out his opponent more than get the championship belt.
"A knockout, of course. My dream is a knockout. I just want to see him sleep in the ring," said Jefri at a press conference in Jakarta, Friday.
Previously, Jefri Nichol and El Rumi had a boxing match which was won by the son of musician Ahmad Dhani in 2023. El Rumi won by points from Jefri Nichol, although neither fell to the ground until KO in the celebrity boxing match.
The result of the match was widely debated by netizens because Jefri Nichol, who was more aggressive, was considered more worthy of winning than El Rumi, who played defensively.
For Nichol, this rematch is a chance to prove that he can truly win by knocking out his opponent.
Meanwhile, El Rumi, who also wants to win the match again, aims to silence the chatter of netizens who make negative comments about him.
Unlike Nichol, El Rumi wants to win the ICB National Championship belt, which means winning by any means necessary.
"I'd rather win, a knockout is a bonus," said El Rumi.
The boxing match between El Rumi and Jefri Nichol, who is not a professional athlete, is an exhibition match that will be held in five rounds.
