The Indonesian Basketball League has confirmed that the second game of the 2025 All-Indonesian final between Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung and Dewa United Banten will still take place at the Manahan Stadium Indoor Solo under tight security.
"In a situation like this, we are aware of the many events happening around us. Therefore, we are working closely with the authorities to ensure the match can proceed safely and with the safety of all parties in mind," said IBL President Director Junas Miradiarsyah in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
Despite mass protests at several locations in Solo City, organizers emphasized that the basketball match would proceed as scheduled in full coordination with security forces and the local government.
Junas emphasized that sport doesn't exist in a vacuum, so empathy for the community's social conditions is a crucial consideration. However, he assured that the final could still be held, prioritizing the safety of players, spectators, and all parties involved.
Edo Wicaksono, CEO of Kuy Media Group and Chairman of the 2025 IBL All Indonesian Organizing Committee, added that the second final match will still take place at 6:30 p.m. WIB. He stated that all relevant parties have prepared precautionary measures to ensure the security of the match.
"We have held meetings with all relevant parties to anticipate and ensure the safety of the IBL All Indonesia final," he said.
Meanwhile, Solo Mayor Respati Ragil, through a social media post, urged the public to maintain a conducive atmosphere and not be provoked by provocations that could cause harm.
