The assistant coach explained the progress of the Indonesian team when they beat Puerto Rico.

Assistant coach of the Indonesian U-21 Men's Volleyball National Team, Nur Widayanto, revealed a number of improvements in the Indonesian team's game when they beat Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-15) in the 2025 U-21 Men's Volleyball World Championship in Jiangmen, China.

"Today, our team's excellent ball reception percentage was higher than yesterday," said Nur Widayanto in a post-match statement in Jakarta, Wednesday.

In the 17th-24th ranking classification match, Indonesia remained focused on receiving the first ball, while the attacking strategy remained the same as the previous match.

Wijayanto explained that middle blockers like Agustino and Muhammad Darda were able to attack with long, fast balls, allowing them to penetrate the blocks between the middle blockers, the opposite Puerto Rican setter, and the opposing team.

Additionally, the remaining ball option for Dawuda at position two and the back attack at position one also worked effectively because the Puerto Rican middle blocker moved to help their outside hitter to ward off the attack at position four.

Widayanto explained that the Indonesian team's defense in the match was also well-coordinated, especially with the players in the back positions.
